You've seen the headlines. They read like the book of Revelation:
the deliberate destruction of the dollar;
the hostile government takeover of banks and businesses;
bowing in submission to the Muslim king of Saudi Arabia;
praising Europe as the world's leader;
chopping our national defense while promising to rid the world of nuclear arms;
the movement toward a global government and the now openly promoted New World Order.
the assault on human life using "the least of these our brothers" for spare parts;
tyrannical judges desecrating the institution of marriage, not just in Massachusetts and Connecticut but now in our heartland of Iowa.
The news is bad. The giants are big and they occupy our land because, well, because we elected them. Elections have consequences, and sometimes they're devastating. And, as I've mentioned about prophetic warnings in past articles, sometimes they usher in the judgment of God.
Yet so many are skipping merrily along oblivious of what is now happening on our watch and what it will cost our country, our family and our friends. My advice to those who feel overwhelmed by the nightly news is to look up. Then look around. The way I see it, we have one chance as a nation. One chance as individuals. It is to repent and turn to Jesus Christ, the One who bled on the cross on a Friday we call "good." And rose from the dead three days later.
But "tolerance" is such a lovely word – except when it comes at the expense of truth, it has cataclysmic results. I wrote a little poem for everyone clinging to "tolerance" over truth, and all of those who are sinning in silence.
Where 'Tolerance' Leads
When we disagreed while watching the news,
You chose to ignore my misguided views.
When I fell for the lie "my body, my choice,"
Fear of offending me silenced your voice.
When the courts destroyed marriage, you bit your lip,
You were too afraid that you wouldn't look "hip."
I wore a "Christian label" but was it not strange,
When I cast my vote for "hope" and for "change"?
You never mentioned, when we talked till the a.m.
To follow Christ means I have to "obey him?"
I know that was hard, it seemed so "uncouth,"
"Tolerance" was easier than speaking the truth.
You didn't tell me Jesus was the ONLY way,
After all, that's what He had to say.
To forgive us and save us, that's why He was sent,
But I never knew of my need to repent.
My sins were paid for by a God who loved me,
You could have explained it so I could see.
You called it "tolerance," but it was not love,
And now it's too late – who were you thinking of?
I trusted you and thought you were my friend,
But rather than speak up, you chose to stand by and pretend.
And for the first time, I can now tell,
With a warm, pleasant smile, you let me go to hell.
As Easter approaches, there's something more important than all that's happening in the world. Something more important than politics and policy. The most important thing is where we're going to spend eternity. And for the family and friends whom I love, who think "being good" is going to get you to heaven, I cannot keep quiet. There's a question that everyone must answer.
QUESTION: If Jesus were to ask you, "Why should I let you into heaven?" What would you say?
ANSWER: Being a "good person" won't get you there, since the Bible says, "We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. …" (Isaiah 64:6 NLT) Belief in God won't cut it – even the devil believes in God, and he's not going to heaven. Simply believing in God isn't enough. Being pro-life or Republican won't get you in. To be assured of your Salvation, each of us must:
Recognize that you're a sinner. "There is no one righteous, not even one" (Romans 3:10). We can't make excuses or blame others or our circumstances for our actions, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
Recognize that Jesus died on the cross for your sins. "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23).
Repent of your sins. Repent means to change direction. "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord" (Acts 3:19). God commands us to repent and turn away from things that displease Him.
Receive Jesus as your Savior. Don't try to clean up your life first. Come to Jesus just as you are and allow Him to change your life. "Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12). Jesus said, "All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away" (John 6:37).
Pray: "Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and am in need of forgiveness. I know that you died on the cross to give me that forgiveness. I accept the ultimate gift you gave to pay the penalty for my sins. I invite you to be my Savior and the Lord of my life. I trust you and will follow your way all the days of my life. In Jesus' name, Amen."
When you feel overwhelmed by all that's happening, remember, things looked pretty bleak on Friday. But Easter's coming. Repent, and cry out for God's mercy, and we just may get it.

Lambs vs. the Jackals
As I sat last week and listened to great speakers like Thomas Sharp and Mike Gendron teach the overflow audience at the 15th Annual Tulsa Prophecy Conference, I was struck by the contrasts between Bible-believers and everyone else. I kept sensing that the jackals who absolutely hate the Bible are becoming more dangerous, radical, and bold.
What a beautiful thought.
The attendees at the conference have always known that this day would come. The apostasy predicted by Jesus, Paul, Peter, John and others is here. We are accused of being foolish, apocalyptic, and deranged for believing that it all looks darkest before the dawn. However, our great Creator God is in control.
The fact that international media, politicians, clergy, entertainment types, and outright pagans think I’m crazy fills me with another beautiful thought: I don’t care! I know whom I have believed, and I’m certain God watches and acts in history. That’s enough for me.
At dinner one evening during the conference, I was visiting with a great group of guys. We were talking about the U.S. stance toward Israel.
I couldn’t help thinking, only half-jokingly, that the last really pro Israel American president was John Adams. For those of you who are historically challenged, that was a ways back up the road. Let’s stop wondering just what is in Barack Obama’s heart regarding the Jewish state. Even if he liked Israel, which I speculate he doesn’t, he’d still sell her down the river at the first sign of trouble. Either the man is hopelessly naïve, or a meaner version of the seemingly bumbling Jimmy Carter. Obama’s dispatching of Hillary Clinton to seek-out “moderate” Taliban to dialogue with (looking for winged elephants would be more productive) tells you all you need to know about his strategy.
If Obama is a more dashing Mr. Peepers, Benjamin Netanyahu is Duke Wayne. The new Israeli prime minister, one hopes, will order a strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities. If you wonder how it will turn out…how does it always turn out? I have several Bible translations and not one of them mentions a final destruction of Israel. They do mention a final destruction of the Babylon System, which has always opposed Israel.
One couldn’t dream-up a fighting force as lethal, sophisticated, and physically and morally courageous as the Israel Defense Forces. They will win because God goes before them. Does the world believe this? No. Will the world believe this? Yes.
In Israel, you can go to the mall and see young people. They stroll the streets of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. They laugh. They shop, email, text. They are all also carrying guns. Ironically, the world views these kids defending their ancestral land as jackals, while their tormentors are considered to be lambs.
Witness the obsession with justifying Palestinian terrorism. Just this week, a psycho walked into an Israeli community just south of Jerusalem and took an axe to two young people, killing one. The killer got away, but you won’t hear much about this from the media. The Associated Press, as usual, published a piece about it, then descended into the usual discussion of the “problem” of Israel not going along with the two-state solution. It reminds me of the hatchet-piece Anthony Lewis wrote in the Washington Post a decade ago, concerning a deranged Jordanian soldier who opened fire on a group of Israeli schoolgirls during a field trip.
After an opening paragraph or two mentioning the massacre, Lewis then spent 13 paragraphs bashing the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Typical. In our world today, in which good is bad and vice versa, Israel is the jackal; her tormentors are the lambs.
A mind not damaged by anti-Bible bias can see quite clearly that Israel is besieged.
The Palestinians are aggressive, arrogant, and tragically flawed due mostly to the radicalization cultivated by the PLO/Palestinian Authority. Fifteen years ago, Oslo was supposed to see a Palestinian entity that was moderate and committed to peace. What do we see today? For starters, a few days ago, the cowardly Holocaust denier, Mahmoud Abbas, declared that Netanyahu is not committed to peace. Disingenuous Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat declared that Israel is not going along with international consensus.
What will the result of this lie be? More axe murderers, bombers, snipers. More Jews killed.
How will Israel respond and what will be the outcome?
I’m reminded of the poignant foreword that novelist Herman Wouk (The Winds of War) wrote for The Letters of Jonathan Netanyahu, which chronicled the life of the extraordinary Israeli war hero. Wouk wrote that because he knew he would have to devote his life to physically protecting his people, Yoni made himself “into a great fighting man.”
The outcome of that kind of commitment is that the real lambs will defeat once and for all the real jackals.
What a beautiful thought.

Unity
With the agreement that Labor will join Likud in Benjamin Netanyahu’s new government, Israel will retain Ehud Barak as defense minister. He brings considerable experience to the post.
Many nations have defense ministers who have little or no military experience. If a nation is large and strong enough, that isn’t necessarily a hindrance. For tiny Israel, they need all the help they can get.
In the spring of 1973, Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir gave the order for members of Sayaret Matkal — the elite commando unit — to hunt down and kill those who carried out the brutal murders of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics.
“Operation Spring of Youth” did exactly that, as Palestinian terrorists were hunted down and eliminated.
Among those who did the hunting was one Ehud Barak. Landing on beaches by night, the team made its way to Beirut, Lebanon. Strolling down a street as a couple in love was in fact two members of the Unit. Barak carried an Uzi under his dress.
The PLO never knew what hit them.
Barak is Israel’s most decorated soldier, no easy feat in a nation of heroes.
He also served as prime minister from 1999-2001; his term was sandwiched between two other decorated veterans — Netanyahu and Ariel Sharon.
Barak and Netanyahu are political rivals. They most likely don’t like each other. Politics is a nasty, nasty business in Israel. Netanyahu needs a unity government in order to be installed as prime minister for a second time. Although Labor and Likud are the equivalent of Democrats and Republicans, Israel’s government functions as a collection of parties that come together to govern. With the Kadima party choosing not to join the government (party leader and current Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni has her own ambitious political plans), Likud has to reach out to others.
Netanyahu is also poised to name Avigdor Lieberman as foreign minister. He is not well-liked by Leftists, since the charismatic Lieberman is a “hard-liner” when it comes to the Palestinians. Already, international diplomats are voicing displeasure over the ascension of Netanyahu and Lieberman. Watch for the Obama team to give the Israelis the cold shoulder.
When the PLO hijacked a Sabena airliner in 1972, in Tel Aviv, an Israeli commando team rescued the hostages; Netanyahu was wounded. Barak was part of his team, then, as well. At the time, Netanyahu’s team posed as airplane mechanics, dressed in white coveralls. They stormed the plane and eliminated the terrorist threat.
These are not men who shy away from danger. They will need all their courage to withstand the intense pressure that will come from their ostensible allies. Imagine what their enemies will do!
It is extraordinary to think what the Arabs could accomplish in the Middle East if they would work with the Israelis and turn away from a culture of death. Even in the desert south, the Israelis are reclaiming the land, with palm groves and innovative irrigation practices. From tourism to agriculture to hi-tech, the Israelis are light years ahead of their neighbors. All this done with at least one hand tied behind their backs!
In our flawed and fallen world, up is down and black is white. The Israelis are besieged, but are portrayed as aggressors. The intense pressure that their leaders are under is something most of us can’t imagine.
Israel’s new prime minister, defense minister, and foreign minister will have to gather all their energies to navigate the nightmare of secular political solutions, which are all doomed to fail.
Let us pray earnestly for them as we await the coming of Israel’s Redeemer.

The Flourishing Laodicean Church
“Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:” Revelation 3:17. The book of Revelation reveals to us who Christ is – He is Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Almighty. He wears this name on His vesture, King of kings and Lord of lords. The Revelation of Jesus Christ also tells of His church and its condition through the ages. In chapters two and three Jesus addresses seven different Churches and sends them a report card of sorts. These churches existed at the time John received the Revelation; these letters give the condition of each church. They also give a prophecy of what Christ’s Church would go through.
Below is a Prophetic Profile of the Seven Churches Jesus is addressing:
1. Ephesus – The Apostolic Church
2. Smyrna – The Persecuted Church
3. Pergamos – The Married Church
4. Thyatira – The Medieval Church
5. Sardis – The Denominational Church
6. Philadelphia – The Missionary Church
7. Laodicea – The Apostate Church
Two of the churches received a good report, but the other five were failing in some areas and Jesus warned them to shape up. The last Church Jesus addressed was the Church at Laodicea in which He hands over the most scathing of indictments and tells them they’d do well to heed His words.
“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:15-16. Jesus refers to the Laodicean Church as being lukewarm. This Church is concerned with the materialistic riches of this world and not God. It’s all about them and their well being. They are quite in tune with their own feelings and believe themselves to be very spiritual as well, but the spirituality they embrace is not of God. The Laodiceans put their faith and trust in prosperity, outward luxury, and physical health. They are in need of nothing, especially Jesus.
When Jesus refers to the Laodicean Church as being lukewarm He’s not saying they’ve almost made it to where He expects them to be. Jesus’ reference to hot means to be on fire for Him and cold is compared to being refreshed with a cold drink of water on a hot parched day. “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:16. Lukewarm being so distasteful to the Lord Jesus that He cannot even swallow it, all He can do is spit it back out of His mouth. My brethren, you don’t want to be in that lukewarm state of affairs when Jesus raptures His Church.
What Jesus is telling this Church is that they are spiritually naked, basically dead. The Church of Laodicea is not currently Heaven bound. The worst part is they don’t realize how utterly distasteful they are to God. They truly believe they’re in great shape and in line with what God expects of them. That’s what makes it difficult to witness to these folks. In their minds their relationship to God is faultless. But take another look at what God says about them. They are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked. In the mind of God there’s no difference between the folks of the Laodicean church, as described above, and those who are perishing through unbelief.
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20. The Laodicean Church has shut Christ out, yet He still wants to come in. He is standing on the outside knocking, and even if one man will open the door for Him, He’ll come in and sup (join in spiritual union) with that individual. Sadly though, the door of that Laodicean Church remains closed to their true Messiah.
America is replete with Laodicean Christians, and these folks will follow anyone who tickles their ears with soft, persuasive, and appealing words. Jesus Christ is not the foundation in those Churches. Heaven forbid that Christians should look to Christ as the author and finisher of their faith and place Him in the middle of every aspect of their lives. “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2. As followers of Jesus Christ no matter where we are, at Church, home, work or play our faith is paramount and Jesus is always the center of our lives.
A major factor at play with this end times apostate Church is their undying support of what the Bible plainly refers to as abominations. They’re upside down, as these folks now call evil good and good evil. The reason I know the Laodicean Church is alive and well is by the many emails I receive from folks complaining about their Church leaders who’ve capitulated to Obama’s socialistic agendas. It’s staggering when I realize that professing Christians can be so completely deceived as to follow such blatant evil. One of these days in the not so distant future, our government will be fully entrenched in interfering with even the content of the Gospel message.
Most Churches in America have bowed the knee to Baal, and it has now become more important for the Church to retain their coveted tax exempt status than to speak out against a tyrannical repressive government. In order to remain tax exempt, churches have surrendered rights. They can be tax-exempt if they remain politically correct and allow the government to police what can and cannot be said from the pulpit. Of course we know this is to be expected as we’re watching the establishment of the apostate Church in America and around the globe.
Think about it, the government of the United States currently interferes with our Christian churches by demanding our pastors refrain from endorsing a political candidate when addressing their congregations. This is just the beginning of their interference. We only need to look to China to see where America’s Christian churches are headed. China fully regulates the content of sermons preached in their government supervised quasi-Christian churches. America’s not quite there yet, but we’re getting close. As I’ve said before, the only church remaining in the last days unimpeded will be the apostate Church, from which a socialist government will have nothing to fear.
On a marquee in front of a Church I passed one day were the following words, “The cornerstone of the Christian church is truth not tolerance”. There’s a good possibility that Church is not of Laodicean fame.
Were the Apostles Peter and John known for their political correctness? These two men had been brought before Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest for preaching about Jesus and for performing a miraculous healing in His name. Peter and John listened patiently as Annas and the others told them that they were forbidden to preach Jesus in public. Peter and John’s response to these foolish men was quite blunt but precisely to the point. “... Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye,” Acts 4:19. Who are we hearkening unto these days?
Christians are told to submit to the governing authorities because they are appointed by God and they serve a purpose in His plan (Romans 13:1), although, sometimes it is to judge the people or to ripen the nation for judgment. Since governments derive their authority from God, we are bound to obey them – unless, of course, they order us to do something in contradiction to God’s law. The murder of unborn babies in the womb and the condoning of a homosexual lifestyle contradict God’s laws. We are to hearken unto God not man (Acts 4:19). If the state’s rulers are God’s ministers (servants), they should remember that they serve the people, and they are not gods. Christian obedience to the state is never blind – it obeys with the eyes of conscience wide open. Know God’s word, His commands and precepts and don’t be deceived.
Children many times follow other children without even a second thought, but now that we are older and able to think and discern for ourselves we should know better than to follow anyone opposed to God. “When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” 1 Corinthians 13:11. It’s childish to follow someone the way a puppy tags along after a small boy.
Be he eloquent of speech, or persuasive of words, whether he’s charismatic and charming, and though his stature be as a Greek god, he still needs to be viewed through the filter of Scripture. And we never use scripture to promote our preconceived ideas or agendas. Remember the one barrier to truth is the idea we already have it.
We don’t follow after vain, puffed up, arrogant, flamboyant, suave and articulate speaking men or women. We follow Christ and His commandments. As born again believers we stand up for Jesus our God and we proclaim His message until He comes. Nothing else matters, nothing of this world can compare to what awaits believers on the other side.
If you’re on the cusp and just about ready to head down Laodicea road, you’ve given up on the scriptures because you just don’t agree with them anymore “They’re out dated, they don’t fit in our new world society” or perhaps your above learning anything new when it comes to the never changing word of God “I know the scriptures better than you do”, then remember this “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:14. Only born again believers are given the ability to grasp what the scriptures are proclaiming while the non-believer remains in darkness. That same darkness surrounds the Laodicean Church.
These apostate churches, have thrown away their first love, Jesus the Christ, and replaced Him with a naked spirituality. They’ve given up the battle and have lain down in the camp of the enemy. The cause of Christ has been hurt far more by people who profess to be knowledgeable Christians, and yet through their very ignorance of the scriptures do more harm than those who ignorantly and arrogantly proclaim there is no God.
Where’s Satan in all this? He’s done his part he’s succeeded in moving the once Christian Church into the land of Laodicea. Satan has moved on to greener pastures so to speak, to undermine Churches on other continents where Christianity is still flourishing and not dead. His greatest conquest has been America’s Christian Churches. Oh sure he left some of his minions of evil here to supervise the remaining slide to Laodicea, but for all intents and purposes he’s accomplished his mission. America’s once Christian Churches have largely been moved into a new arena of spiritual apathy.
Satan was defeated long ago, at the cross, long before he began his work corrupting the Christian Churches in America. Jesus did that through His death, burial, and resurrection. But the Church allowed Satan a stronghold, a footing as it were, so he could advance his agenda to the uttermost extreme. He and his minions of evil have now become more prosperous than ever before.
So what motivates believers nowadays to keep the faith? Is it the love we have for Jesus that keeps us going in the face of all adversity? It should be. But where does that adversity come from if Satan’s mission is mostly complete? Sadly, Christians today are finding their very own brethren to be their biggest stumbling blocks.
I continually receive emails from professing Christians that disparage God’s word. I’ll point out the chapter and verse but no matter what God’s word proclaims they still disagree. Who are they disagreeing with? It seems we can no longer agree on what is right and what is wrong. Any mention of sin has been banned from the pulpits of these apostate Churches. Abortion, homosexuality, pornography, divorce are accepted in the minds of many professing Christians today, and if those four abominations aren’t enough to turn God’s stomach, we are quickly becoming a nation that curses Israel. That Brethren, is the scariest.
The Church at Laodicea is a body of professing believers who aren’t really followers of Christ. They’ve stopped holding the entirety of God’s word as authority. Those congregational attendees who fall into that category will not be included in the rapture of Christ’s Church. Sadly they’ve eliminated Jesus as the foundation of their faith. People, that’s not judging. If Jesus said He would spew them out of His mouth what makes us think He’ll allow them into His Heavenly Kingdom in that state?
Yes my friends, the Laodicean Church is flourishing in the United States of America and around the world for that matter. These thriving congregations will soon be into full apostasy. This is the prophetic course set for the Church according to the scriptures. They will be the only remaining Church in the last days before Christ’s return. Yet Jesus still loves them, and considers them His friends “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.” Revelation 3:19.
If you feel you’re involved in a Church that is Laodicea bound, it’s time to make a change in your Christian walk.
What You Absolutely Need to Know about the movie Knowing
I could not think of a better way to spend a Saturday morning than to veg out on a good, entertaining sci-fi movie. I have loved doing that very thing a long time, so why stop now. I loved movies like Forbidden Planet with Robbie the Robot and The Day the Earth Stood Still. I had seen the trailers and it looked fast paced and exciting which it turned out to be but the reaction to the movie by the critics (it was panned) and the general public (it was #1 at the box office) as well by me turned out to be not what I was expecting. I guess that I have matured over the years and now have more discernment. With all the talk nowadays of science fiction movies like the Race to Witch Mountain “acclimating people to the idea of alien disclosure and preparing us all for the new realities dawning in the 21st Century” and “being a wonderful way to indoctrinate the masses by being a great piece of propaganda”, Knowing seemed to wrap up all those assumptions in one apocalyptic fireball. The movie had mysterious Watchers (fallen angels aka extraterrestrial beings) who the writers wanted to roar like God did in Job 37:4-5 when they talked, but who actually sounded more like the devil who prowls about like a roaring lion seeking someone to devourer (1 Peter 5:8) and their UFOs were wheels within wheels like the Prophet Ezekiel saw. These alien Watchers wore black suits but were revealed later to masquerade as angels of light just like Satan (2 Corinthians 11:14).
In spite of this lame attempt at biblical imagery, the theme of this movie, in my mind at least, seemed more centered around the dichotomy between determinism and randomness. And even in this area which caused many critics to pan the movie because God forbid there be any meaning to the universe lest anyone judge, they still got it totally wrong.
A review of this movie which appeared in the Chicago Tribune on Friday, 3/20/09 by Christopher Borelli symbolizes this distaste for the movie by high browed, atheistic, literary critics. Borelli wrote that the movie had an “evangelical fervor of a movie made during W’s first term.” He said that it was a “potent slice of disaster porn like the Left Behind movies and that it dabbled in faith and doubt and had no patience for fence sitters.” “It slipped off of the tracks into self righteousness”, Borelli concluded by saying that “if you believe in determinism then we are all just cogs in an unraveling cosmic joke.”
To show you the ridiculousness and narrow minded bigotry of men like Borelli towards anything religious (i.e. determinism), let me briefly explain that this movie has nothing to do with the Bible or the word of God. This was not a Christian gospel message but was entirely an alien gospel message. If you want to call this determinism as well fine, but please make the distinction between a God centered determinism and an alien centered one. The only evangelistic fervor in this movie was for the alien mindset and maybe as well for an alien disclosure before the apocalypse.
In the movie, a school fifty years ago (1959) wanted to put children drawings of the future into a time capsule to be dug up in 2009. On of the young children goes into a trance and channels a long list of numbers onto a piece of paper. She appeared to be a little peculiar and ends up in a closet bloodied and was obviously not doing anything of God. When the capsule is dug up in the present, a MIT astrophysicist’s (Nicholas Cage) son opens the letter with all the strange numbers. The father who is a random type cosmological scientist stumbles onto the fact that these numbers are really predictions of disasters and accidents both past, present and future which rocks his world. Also, his father is a Pastor who he has not spoken to since his wife accidentally died in her sleep in a hotel fire. Although his father the Pastor believes that everything including his son’s wife’s death happens for a reason, this does not make this movie religious determinism.
First of all, channeling or divination of information from God only knows where or from whom, is not of God. It is witchcraft. We find out later that it probably was from these alien Watcher gods who are ultimately trying to warn all us earthlings of impending apocalypse. Remember, this was not from God but was from what I would call fallen angels of Satan so to set up this straw man of randomness and knock him down in the name of (alien) determinism is nonsense at best. Thus, Borelli’s critical review about “evangelical furor” and “self righteousness” was misguided. There was no God or Christian morality within a million miles of this movie so to speak.
Cage, the astrophysicist discovers that everyone on earth will be annihilated by a mass solar ejection in the near future. This sounds very much like all the hysteria about 2012, when according to the Mayan Long Calendar our solar system will intersect the galactic equator and will coincide according to NASA with a terrific solar storm greater than anything ever before Cage goes to the isolated trailer of this former girl of 50 years ago with his son and her daughter and granddaughter to learn more. He finds a picture of a sun with the name of the Prophet Ezekiel underneath.
Maybe the writers were trying to refer to:
“And when I extinguish you I will cover the heavens and darken the stars I will cover the sun with a cloud” (Ezekiel 32:7).
There were all kinds of religious symbolism in this syncretism of alien religion, science and the metaphysical. They finally find the safest place on earth from the impending apocalypse which Cage has verified will indeed happen with his colleague friend at MIT. His son and the crazed woman’s granddaughter are rescued by alien Watchers in UFOs which are just like Ezekiel’s wheels within wheels (Ezekiel 10:10). These two children are transported by the alien saviors to another new planet to begin the human race anew. They run through fields which reminded me of the Elysian Fields of the Greeks which was the final resting place of the blessed as chosen by the Greek gods and ruled over by Rhadamanthys.
As the movie ends, these supposed Adam and Eve wanabees move towards a silver tree which could have been the biblical Tree of Life (Genesis 2:9) or the mystical Tree of Life of Kabbalah symbolizing the ten sephiroth or kundalini energy points or maybe it was supposed to be the Sacred Tree of the Mayans which was symbolic of 2012 or the center of the universe revealed as the solar system passes through the galactic equator. Who knows for sure but it was mystical at its best.
Look, the word of God speaks of a time when the earth will be destroyed by fire like so many fear happening in 2012 or in 2009 as n this movie.
“Heavens pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat and the earth and its works will be burned up…and the heavens will be destroyed by burning and the elements will melt with intense heat.” (2 Peter 3:10, 12).
But unlike the pseudo alien gospel presented in this movie it will be a time when
“According to His (God) promise, we are looking for a new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells (2 Peter 3:13).
This gospel of the Lord promises salvation to all who repent and believe not just two small children.
“But the Lord is not slow about His promises as one counts slowness but is patient towards you not wanting any to perish but for all to come to repentance” (2Peter 3:9).
Thus, this movie, despite what the secular critics say, is not about the difference between a determinist (religion) model of the universe and a random (scientific) model. Unlike what the movie critic Borelli alleged, it was not evangelistic and judgmental. It compared randomness with an evolved alien model which surely was not determined by God. His was a specious argument. The real question is what this movie has to do with alien disclosure. It is telling us that no matter what happens to the cosmos, these intelligent Watcher gods have our best interests in mind and will save humanity for a new future.
These aliens Watcher gods are really fallen angels and roam around like Satan who is a roaring lion seeking someone to devourer.
Sure, the universe was not random to the writers of the movie Knowing but it was rather determined but it was determined by alien demonic beings.
The only alien disclosure that this movie alluded to is to the reality of an alien gospel which will lead you straight to hell. As I have stated many times before, UFOlogist Trevor James Constable had it right when he wrote that “the battle with UFOs is not for the planet of man but for the soul of man.”
